Set Up & Fund the Node Wallet

The Node Wallet must be funded with AVAX to pay for the gas required to claim rewards. This can be done in a few simple steps below.

On average, funding your Node Wallet with 0.15 AVAX is enough to cover the gas required to run 1 Key on a node that's active 24/7 for 1 month.

If you hold AVAX already, proceed to the steps below to fund the Node Wallet.

When using the Node Client desktop app, a Node Wallet is automatically created for you. Follow the steps below to fund the Node Wallet in the desktop app.

1. Go to Node Wallet in the Haku Node client desktop app.

2. Click the "Copy" icon next to the Node Wallet address to copy to address to your clipboard (see image below)

3. Go to your wallet and transfer some AVAX to the address copied in Step 2.

How to import your wallet as the Node Wallet in the desktop app

Rather than using one of the automatically generated Node Wallets, you may choose to import your private key so that one of your own wallets serves as the Node Wallet. Below are steps to import your own wallet as the Node Wallet in the Haku Node Client desktop app:

1. Go to Node Wallet in the desktop app.

2. Click the three-dot menu button.

3. Click "Import Node Wallet".

4. Paste in the private key of your desired wallet into the text field.

Click "Confirm Import".

Confirm that your wallet's public address matches what is display on the Haku Wallet page. If it does not, you should try importing your private carefully key once more.
